Hatsumode (初詣)

Hatsumode (初詣) basically means first visit to Shinto shrine, but some people like me went to Buddhist temple instead ;) It is a Japanese tradition of praying, wishing a good luck for a year.

The most famous shrine in Tokyo must be Meiji Jingu in Harajuku with millions visitors every year. Asakusa Kannon Temple, the Buddhist temple that I went was super crowded too! It was always crowded as a tourist spot but today there were way more.

My face of the day :) Actually I wanted to take picture of my outfit since I want to make this blog as a semi fashion blog but I still dunno how to take nice picture of my outfit, hopefully I'll figure it out soon ;)

I haven't had breakfast nor lunch and I was too early from the meeting time so I decided to have Subway that I've been craving for weeks :)

Asakusa Kannon Temple (Sensoji Temple)

F.Y.I : Kannon is the Goddess of mercy and the camera brand Canon actually got its name from the Goddess.

This is of course my  fave temple in Tokyo that I decided to do my hatsumode there :)

Look at that new year special ornaments, flying daruma san and maneki neko :)

Some ladies came wearing their furisodes which are really pretty and colorful!

My Omikuji (Oracle/Fortune): Daikichi! The best fortune! I've never got one before, last time when I went there I got a bad one so I was so happy with this :) I believe 2012 will be a great year for me.

Everything written there was basically good but the only not good one is about lost thing. it is said that lost thing is late to be found. I was thinking about this one about what I'm missing. Hmmmm, I assume it's probably love/relationship. lol. oh well, I don't mind to wait.

I definitely will work harder to "polish"myself this year.

Patty also got Daikichi for the first time too :)

My friend is working part time in one of the festival stalls and we went to visit her. And they gave us the Monjayaki for free. How nice of them :)

I met this guy... I mean this statue in the middle of a street!

Photobucket
and his friend is hanging up there! ;)

We walked toward the sky tree...

Photobucket
Unknown building - Tokyo Sky Tree - Asahi Beer Building - ??? they together really make a nice landscape

Photobucket
A bridge and it seems like you can take a boat there to go to Odaiba

Photobucket
Tokyo Sky Tree close up. This tower is planned to be opened this Spring and it will be the tallest tower in Japan, even taller than the iconic Tokyo tower. To be honest I like Tokyo's tower shape more :) and this tower has been really popular in these past 2 years and has appeared in many dramas / TV shows  and CMs

Photobucket
Look down and you can see the reflection. This is my fave picture taken today :)

Our early dinner, Pepper lunch, the meat was hard... lol might order different one next time XD

We went to Ginza aftewards because Ginza and Asakusa is located in the same line and fairly close to each other

Photobucket
I love how they put the Japanese flag there :)

Photobucket
Ginza at night is indeed pretty and classy

The Seiko building, one of the Ginza's landmarks

We went in to a stationary shop called Itoya. And they sell many cute greeting cards! I love Japanese pop up greeting cards, they are so cute both the design and the words written on it.

Had this for night snack at Chococro San Marc Cafe, this cafe is famous for it croisant but I wanted to try something else so I had a bread instead and also Osaka mix juice. They were good, I loved the juice XD

I can't believe that school is starting soon :(
I have class this Saturday and final exams are coming too
oh well, spring break comes afterwards!
